This week’s issue of the popular NFL Insider features two of the top fantasy football players in the game.
They’re the Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff and the Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
They are both projected to start Week 1.
The first question is, “Are they fantasy-relevant?”
In the case of Goff and Bridgewater, the answer is a resounding “yes.”
Goff is in a position to be a first-round fantasy pick.
His touchdown total is at a career-high for a rookie quarterback.
He has thrown at least one touchdown pass in four straight games and is tied for the NFL lead with nine touchdown passes this season.
Bridgewater, meanwhile, is the first quarterback since Peyton Manning to have his first-half touchdown total of 100 or more since 2000.
That was in his second season as the Colts quarterback.
For Goff and Brees, the question is a little more complicated.
In the past two weeks, the two have combined for two interceptions and a touchdown pass.
They have also combined for three turnovers and a turnover on defense.
The former is the highest total for a first down in NFL history and the latter is the lowest total for any quarterback in NFL History.
They both have the highest completion percentage in the NFL this season and they have completed at least 70 percent of their passes.
The Rams quarterback has also thrown a career high 10 touchdown passes in the last three games, a stretch of seven consecutive games with at least 10 touchdowns.
Brees, meanwhile is one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks in 2017, with an NFL passer rating of 104.7.
His three interceptions are tied for most in the league.
Both Goff and Teddy Bridgewater are projected to be fantasy players this week, and both of them are starting for the Los Angles Rams.
Goff has already thrown for 1,907 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Bridgewater has thrown for 819 yards and three touchdowns.
This is the fifth time in the past six weeks that both Goff and Zimmer have thrown for at least 1,000 yards and four touchdowns.
Goff and Peterson were in this same category last week.
Goff threw for 1.4 yards per attempt in the Rams’ Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers.
He completed 17-of-25 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
Bridgewater threw for 447 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 115 yards.
Both of these quarterbacks threw for 200 or more yards in Week 1 against the Green, and Goff has thrown four touchdowns in the Vikings’ past five games.
Both quarterbacks are worth starting for fantasy purposes this week.
